This is to inform you that on 30 November 2007 the new "International Research Staff Exchange Scheme" IRSEShas been launched.

IRSES may be an interesting opportunity to deepen the relationship of EU/Ass research organizationswith those in one of the 29 countries addressed. The action may be very helpful to built up or deepen relationships with the intention to collaborate in the future and/or submit joint projects.

IRSES is addressing the exchange of researchers with research organisations in the following altogether 29 countries

Countries with EC agreements on S&T: Argentina*, Australia, Brazil*, Canada, China*, Chile*, Egypt*, India*, Japan, South Korea, Mexico*, Morocco*, New Zealand, Russia*, South Africa*, Tunisia*, Ukraine*, United States.

Countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP):

Eastern Europe & Central Asia (EECA) Armenia*, Azerbaijan*, Belarus*, Georgia*, Moldova*, Ukraine * Mediterranean Partner Countries (MCP) Algeria*, Egypt*, Jordan*, Lebanon*, Libya*, Morocco*, Palestinian-administrated areas*, Syrian Arab Rep*., Tunisia*

* International Cooperation Partner Countries (ICPC)

If you want to get in contact with contact persons in these 29 countries that may help you in finding interesting exchange partners, please turn to the contact person here on the following list. The list may not yet be 'final final', some countries still wish to indicate additional persons.

It is important now to inform the most suitable research organisation in your country.

Interested Institutes should take up contact with another research organisations in one of the mentioned 29 countries and prepare with them and a further EU/Associated country partner an interesting and convincing application.

The deadline for the call is the 28 March 2008
